Beezy
These poor bees - they have a hive at the foot of a very big tree in our yard. I don't mind them but they are starting to get territorial and diving down over our pathway to get to their hive. So we had the bees evicted and sealed up the hole in the tree. Seems they are working to get back in no matter what. They work so hard - I wish they'd just build higher up in the tree!
Hot Scarf
It is almost 100 degrees here today, but the sun is so bright I couldn't resist trying to get a photo of my "only took a year and a half to finish" scarf! You can kinda see the sequins in the handspun. Oh, and I"m almost done with my Cedric socks for the HSS4! Hurray!

Excuse Excuses
So, I haven't blogged in ages. I compose blog posts in my head while waiting in traffic or trying to fall asleep, but something happens and I never get around to it. And I am distracted from blogging - I blame facebook, the Twilight Saga, Ravelry, knitting, AYSO and most of all school. Not my school. I mean preschool and kindergarten. Even though my kids are in school now no, I do not have more time. So, I have to get a schedule going and stick too it. Oh, and my knee is better so I want to start running again too. I hate the hot weather for running but I need to start somewhere, right? Just like with this post, at least it is a start.

Hogwarts Sock Swap Three
My Hogwart Sock Swap 3 package was waiting for me when I got home from my trip to Idaho (see photos below). The amazing package includes Gryffindor sock yarn, some cotton to make a Sirius Black wash cloth (how awesome is that - he is my favorite), two patterns, some tasty jellybeans, teas, a journal, pen, sticker, and an amazing note sent via Floo Network. A big thanks to my wonderful angel, Ophelia B. and her pal for a truly magical pacakge. I look forward to round #4!
Evening Rainbows
Lovely horses in the masture during a distant thunder storm in Idaho. There are actually two rainbows but one is very faint. I think the majority of my mosquito bites come from taking this shot.

NYC For Hubby & Me
So, my husband and I made our first long trip without the boys. We went to NYC to see art. And boy did we see art. I can't tell you have many galleries we visited and I can tell you that we made it to most of the museums. It was a non-stop trip filled with good food, visits with friends, wonderful hosts (we stayed with my sister-in-laws parents), train rides up and down town, and one stop at Purl Soho. I managed to sneak in a trip to a yarn store! Next time I want to hit Brooklyn General. I love New York. Such a fun town to visit and explore. I missed my boys though...
Jalama Camping
It has been a very busy. In the last few weeks we have gone on our first camping trip with the boys (2 human boys, one canine boy) to Jalama. It was beautiful despite the wind. The boys had a great time and I can see more camping in our future! Next time I think a trip to the mountains is in order. We need a bit more shade! But really, who can complain with a sunset like that!

Home from the Range & HSS3
The boys and I made it home from a lovely trip to Montana/Idaho with my folks to see my grandma. It was snowy and cool and lovely. Grandma and the family are doing well and we had a lot of good visits. We also saw some animals out and about - elk, deer, bighorn sheek, antelope...and cows that walk on fences (as seen above). I was also lucky enough to visit Mountaincolors in Corvallis. I love their yarn! Got some mills ends an some beautiful Alpaca/Wool blend. Hope to make a sweater!
I sent my HSS3 package off today! Hurray! And I am working on my Monkey Swap 4 Socks!

I finished my FCS with a bunch of help from my LYS! I wish I had done one more repeat but oh well. It will probably suit my mom better this way. I am very proud of myself for finishing her gift early - this is for Mother's Day.
